Regular Medical Insurance or Credit Card Travel Insurance to Save Money

Should You Rely On Your Regular Medical Insurance or Credit Card Travel Insurance to Save Money and Protect Yourself
Is relying on credit card travel insurance instead of buying travel insurance a good way to safely cut travel costs? The cost of travelling abroad is not cheap. You would think that getting sick or having an accident-related medical expenses covered by our own medical plans at home would possible. After all, we are the same people whether we’re at home or abroad, right? Unfortunately, that’s not the way it works.

When I made my first trip to China a few years ago, I checked this out for myself and discovered that my own medical and extended medical plans would be almost useless to me when travelling abroad. I discovered that, among other things, emergency medical transportation costs were not covered. Nor would I be reimbursed for 100% of my medical expenses. My next step was to check out the travel insurance policies attached to my credit cards. I discovered that the limitations of coverage were low and the exclusions on coverage were many. In fact, some of them only paid if I died! What good was that to me?

I also didn’t want to pay the premium that my travel supplier wanted me to pay, so that’s when I went online and found excellent but cheap travel insurance. I suggest that you do the same.
