Why cut back on protecting your family when you don’t have to? Home security can be affordable—it’s all about shopping around and choosing the right fit. There are a number of companies to choose from, all of them offering slightly different packages. Even the most basic alarm systems can help protect you and your family.
Below are some of the most well-known names in home security.
ADT is the largest provider in electronic security services, with a history that pre-dates most other security companies. With five different packages to choose from, you are sure to find one that fits your needs.
Basic package includes: Quick connect control panel, 2 wireless door/window sensors, a wireless motion detector, 1 wireless keychain remote, 24-hour battery in case of power outage, and a window decal and yard sign. After a mail-in rebate, the total installation price comes out to $99. ADT Home Security Alarms
Broadview Security Sign Broadview may seem like a name foreign to home security systems, but really it’s just the re-naming of Brinks Home Security. Still offering the same basic home security coverage, Broadview’s basic package includes:
A numbered keypad, door or window sensors, motion detector, an interior siren, a master control panel (this is simply the panel and wiring that connects you to their monitoring centers), along with window decals and a yard sign.
Most companies offer more details on their website, but with Broadview, it does not say how many sensors or motion detectors you get and the advertising and website is not the most user friendly. The basic installation package has a special of $49 installation, with some restrictions of a three year contract and pending enrollment in automatic monthly payments. They may even require additional smoke detectors at an extra charge, depending on local codes.
GE has over seven systems to choose from, and has a trusted reputation in home security. Most of their packages offer a combination of wired and wireless alarms. The current special deal is:
1 control panel, 2 door or window sensors, 1 motion sensor, and 1 keychain remote. The call-in price is $99.
The good part about GE is they offer 1, 2, or 3 year contracts, depending on what you need.
